Francis Lam is a new media artist and a master of interactive programming. He is primarily known as a creator of db-db.com — the social network for design that allows sharing information and finding friends with the same interests. The project was very successful and received various awards. Back in 2006 Lam received his Masters degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His thesis was about the social aspects of the digital media. Lam also designed iPhone apps under the brand db-db. His name is closely associated with the run of the application called Nudemen. Lam spoke out against the excess of female nudity on the Internet and offered to introduce Nudemen (naked men). However, Apple banned the launch of the application for its controversial images. Today Lam lives in Shanghai and continues to develop various applications. This summer he came to Strelka to share his views and experience with us.
