Lecture Post-Socialism: Russia vs. China
Russia and China are parallel in many ways: they are two biggest land-powers on Eurasia continent and two of the biggest rising powers in "BRICS". Both are developing countries that used to have an empire history and strive to revive the glory. Both have learned from the West, and both are still exploring the definition of modernity. Both used to be socialism countries, suffered from the failure of planned economy, and are now experiencing the transformation from it. However, Russia and China differed a lot in their post-socialism transformations in political, economical and social dimensions. The compare of the transformations might set up critical frames of reference for us in reading the ongoing failure of global capitalism and outlooking a coming new global order.
