Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design, in cooperation with the Israeli Embassy, will open the XI Israeli Film Festival and show Joseph Cedar’s film «Footnote», which received the award for best screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival 2011. The opening is visited by guests from Israel, heads of Jewish communities, and cultural figureheads.
The festival will be held at Pioneer cinema, where artistic and documentary films of Israeli filmmakers will be shown during the week. Among the selected films are «Such is Sodom!», «Inner grammar», «Personnel Manager», «Renovation», «For you not visible», «Infiltration», «Unfinished Film», «Footnote», «Matchmaker», and «Salsa in Tel Aviv.» In addition to film screenings, the festival hosts discussions and meetings with directors and actors.
