Winy Maas is a Dutch architect, urbanist, and a co-founder of the MVRDV studio,among whose projects are the South Korean Kwang center, the House of culture andmovement in Denmark, and the project for an autonomous residential community in Moscow’s A101 suburbs. Winy Maas is actively teaching in different educational institutions around the world, such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Delft Technical University, the Berlage Institute, and Yale University.
At her lecture, Winy Maas will talk about her latest projects and about The Why factory, a jointresearch program of MVRDV and Delft Technical University (Netherlands). The Why factory’s activities are concentrated on studying the possible scenarios of urban development and on the modeling and visualization of the cities of the future. In addition, the lecture will discuss a revision of the theory of copy / past, to which the workshop «Copy / Paste: how to copy a project in 3 minutes» is devoted.
