Katya Larina and Daniyar Yusupov are Russian architects, lecturers at the department of urbanism and urban environment design of SPBGASU. They are also the creators of u: lab.spb, which is engaged in research on urban planning and new methods of design and consulting on urban planning.
The lecture is devoted to interoperable-designed environment; what is it, what are its capabilities, potential and topology? Katya and Daniyar talk about what constitutes an interface of interoperable environment, how it works, what it’s needed for. And also about two types of interfaces: repeater and mediator.
Katya Larina: «We see the environment as a dynamic system evolving over time. Modern urban design has no meaning, because it concerns projects that don’t take the transformation of the environment and changes in its functions into account».
